I Am Not Forsaken

Have you ever wondered where God is in the midst of tragedy and sorrow? I can only share from my own journey and say that He was right there with me when I received the heartbreaking news that my beautiful Candy had passed away at 29 years old while I was far away in Israel in 2000.  Just eighteen months later, my youngest daughter Dana, also at 29 years old, left this earth to join her sister in heaven, leaving me with an empty heart, but not alone.

The pain was so overwhelming that it felt like I could hardly breathe. But even in the depths of that agony, my hands lifted in praise to His Name! I felt the Lord’s presence wrap around me like a warm blanket, and He whispered in my ear that Candy and Dana were dancing in heaven and that one day,  I would see them again. He reminded me  of  His  love for me and assured me that all of heaven was with me, helping me navigate through this dark pit of my soul to a place of joy that comes in the morning.

Today, I can say that I have risen from tears of sorrow to shouts of joy because my King lives and has never left my side!
